Sam Allardyce has focused his sights on Newcastle's Kevin Nolan, Alan Smith and Nicky Butt. Kevin Nolan moved from Bolton to Newcastle for £4million in January 2009, while Alan Smith was a £5million purchase by Sam Allardyce during his tenure at Newcastle.
We believe that the total value of this transfer would be about £4million, and would result in a total wage savings of £150k per week. Besides Kevin Nolan, who has shown glimpses of his ability in the last few games, we feel that the other 2 should be shipped out to reduce our wage bill.
The most pressing issue would be to appoint a manager, cause currently the fire sale seems to have no end in sight, and if this keeps up, we may not have a team to field at the start of the season.
