The Journal has reported that Llambias has come out and quash rumours that NUFC will make a move for Alan Curbishley. The report states that a move for Curbishley, thus snubbing Shearer, would anger most NUFC fans. However, the move for Shearer still does not seem to be likely, and Shearer has realized that the chances of him being appointed as manager rests with the new management that will be taking over.
We were hoping that a manager will be appointed soon, be it Curbishley or Shearer or any other manager that has the good of NUFC as his first priority. Right now, we are losing out on some signings that we need to strengthen our squad as there is no leadership at the helm.
We pray that Ashley and Llambias are considering Shearer as manager, because right now this report gives off a vibe that Curbishley will not be appointed as manager to prevent a fans backlash, but the timing of this coincides with the renewal of NUFC season tickets. Furthermore, when have we heard Llambias ever talking to the fans? We hope it ain't so, but it may be an elaborate ploy to sell more season tickets so that Mike Ashley gets a higher value for the club.
