Seb Bassong, our find of the seasonBassong joined NUFC from Metz in July 2008 after Metz was relegated to Ligue 2. He has represented Metz 87 times, and has also represented the French Under 21 before making his Newcastle debut against Coventry in the League Cup on 26th August 2008.
Ever since Newcastle was relegated to the Coca Cola Championship, Sebastian Bassong has attracted interest from many clubs, including Arsenal. Shearer has slapped a £15million price tag on him, but with Shearer no longer the manager of Newcastle, and Bassong being silent on NUFC's relegation, anything can happen right now.
We do hope Seb stays on at Newcastle, because then we would have a center back pairing that is better than most Championship clubs. And to do so we need to get this rudderless ship that is NUFC straight, and that should begin by praying that Mike Ashley sells up and gets out. and hopefully Freddy Shepard doesn't come back in to manage the club.
