Shearer to take over West Brom - What?

News of the World has reported that Shearer is the favourite candidate to replace Tony Mowbray at West Bromwich Albion.

Currently, Tony Mowbray is in pole position for the Celtic job, vacated by Gordon Strachan on the 25th of May. And NOTW has reported that once Tony Mowbray is confirmed as Celtic's manager, negotiations will begin with Alan Shearer. NUFC will not receive any compensation as Shearer is no longer contracted to the club. This means that if discussions between WBA and Shearer go well, Shearer may be the manager of WBA in less than 2 weeks.

We hope this piece of news is not true, but with Mike Ashley ruining the club with his antics and a sale of the club that would only be completed by the middle of July at its earliest, we have to expect the worst. No manager is bigger than the club, but without Shearer, who are our viable options? Martinez would be highly likely to take over at Wigan, and besides that there aren't any managers that would do great at Newcastle. Or maybe a return for JFK?
