Surprising news coming out of the North-East today, with Fraizer Campbell being linked with NUFC.
Chronicle reports that Fraizer has his head turned by NUFC's reputed interest in the January transfer window, and is waiting for the whole mess at NUFC to be sorted out. Currently on duty with England U-21 at the U21 European Championship, he will decide his future at the end of the Championships.
A source close to Frazier has said,
“Fraizer has heard that Newcastle United are sniffing around. And he is intrigued to see how things pan out up there. He is well aware that there is some uncertainty at Newcastle at the moment. But he is waiting to see what the outcome of that is because this is such a crucial move in his career.”
Fraizer has made 11 appearances for the U-21, scoring 3 goals, and has achieved much with Royal Antwerp and Hull City (while he was on loan), scoring a total of 36 goals in 67 appearances.
Currently, Hull has announced an interest in young Frazier's services, but with Fraizer waiting till the end of the European Championships to decide his future, it gives time for NUFC to sort out the takeover bid and possibly snatch him from under the noses of Hull.
After all, chances are that Hull are likely to head down next season, while once the takeover completes, there should be a high chance that we will be promoted.
