Shane Ferguson signed for Newcastle in July 2007, and he primarily plays as a left winger. He has never made an appearance for the first team, but has represented the reserve team, with his first appearance coming in the Tyne-Wear reserve derby on 1st September 2008.
Shane has just made his bow for the N. Ireland team over the weekend when he came on as a substitute in N. Ireland 3-0 loss to Italy in Pisa. With that, Shane Ferguson has represented his country at all levels.
We have heard about Shane Ferguson in the past, but with the recent batch of youngsters who have come to the club, he has fell out of the spotlight. However, Richard Money, our great academy director, has stated on NUFCtv that he expects Shane to make an appearance for the first team soon enough.
"Shane is a terrific talent and is a really good lad as well"
We hope that Shane makes his appearance for a first team soon, but with the club going through turbulent times, we do hope that he makes his first team appearance for NUFC, and not for a Bundesliga club.
