Robert Martinez is Wigan's new manager

Reuters has reported that Robert Martinez has been appointed Wigan's new manager.
Robert Martinez - ex Swansea Manager

Dave Whelan has announced that Robert Martinez, former Wigan player from 1995-2001, has taken charge of Wigan. This piece of news has been expected for weeks after Steve Bruce left Wigan to join Sunderland.

This means that we have one less option for the choice of our manager, as Robert was the choice after Alan Shearer in the hearts and minds of NUFC fans. We have to get Shearer in quick, if not there will not only be an incapable chairman at the helm of this rudderless ship, but one that will not have a manager at the start of the new Championship season. We hope the Profitable Group or even Reliance Telecommunications, who showed interest last summer, would be able to save NUFC.

Oh, on another point, Gary Speed is in the running for the Swansea post! We wish him the best of luck!
