22 yr old David EdgarDavid is a youngster who has came through Newcastle's Youth Academy, and his contract expires on the 30th of June. With no manager at the helm, and Ashley not willing to pour money into the club, we risk losing David on a free transfer. Birmingham City have already expressed their interest in David. However, following NUFC's relegation, this may be the chance that David needs to stake his place in the first team.
The fact that we are about to lose David on a free transfer just shows what damage Mike Ashley has done to our club. David has always given 110% when he plays, and was willing to fill in all along the back four. He was an excellent squad player for us last season, and with the Championship being tougher and more physical than the Premier League, we hope that David stays with us as he is an alternative to Bassong should Bassong leave the club.
