According to the report, the document, titled "Wasserman Brochure", was released by his agents in an attempt to find a new club for Michael Owen. In the brochure, it states that:
"Were it not for an unhappy spell at Real Madrid and two injury-scarred years at Newcastle, he would be spoken about in the same breath as Torres and Ronaldo and valued in the priceless figures that only match-winning goalscorers ever justify."
We agree that Michael was a very special striker when he burst onto the stage with his solo run in the 1998 World Cup, but ever since he left Real Madrid, he has been a shadow of the striker he was. At Newcastle, Michael has scored 30 goals in 79 games. That's a good return for a striker, however the fact that he has only started 79 games over 4 seasons shows that his injury problems overshadowed his scoring ability.
The report further states that Owen wishes to play Premier League football, and states that his is good looking and charismatic. I've never heard of any agents using the phrase good looking and charismatic in talking up a footballer. If the phrase was used to attract clubs who wishes to sell more shirts, I say purchase a footballer from China. He will sell more shirts and probably be on lower wages than Michael Owen.
An ow(e)n goal scored by his agents.
