Chris Hughton to take over pre season

The Evening Chronicle has reported that Chris Hughton is favourite to take over, once again, as Newcastle caretaker manager.

Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood

The Evening Chronicle states that as the current administration are unwilling to invest any more money into the club, NUFC's preseason would most likely be handled by members of the coaching staff whose contracts has not expired. This means that Chris Hughton is likely to be the caretaker manager. Paul Barron, our goalkeeping coach, likely to be his assistant.

We hope for the sake of the club and for the sake of the fans that Chris does not become the caretaker manager for NUFC once again. Chris has brought us a solitary win in his 10 games that he has been in charge, and that win came against bottom of the table West Brom. Chris has looked terribly out of his depth as caretaker manager and we hope that this managerial situation is resolved quickly so as to prepare for our promotion out of the Coca Cola Championship.

Games that Hughton was in charge of:
13th Sep - NUFC 1 - 2 Hull City
20th Sep - West Ham 3 - 1 NUFC
24th Sep - NUFC 1 - 2 Tottenham
27th Sep - NUFC 1 - 2 Blackburn
07th Feb - WBA 2 - 3 NUFC
22nd Feb - NUFC 0 - 0 Everton
01st Mar - Bolton 1 - 0 NUFC
04th Mar - NUFC 1 - 2 Man Utd
14th Mar - Hull City 1 - 1 NUFC
21st Mar - NUFC 1 -3 Arsenal
