Coloccini's puts himself up for sale

Maxifoot.fr has reported that Coloccini's agent has offered his services to Olympique Marseille, who finished 2nd in Ligue 1 this season.
Coloccini - One of our 3 main centre backs

Maxifoot reports that Didier Deschamps, the new manager of Marseille, is interested in recruiting a centre back, and according to the report, the agents of Coloccini have offered his services to OM. Reports put the pricethat OM would be willing to offer is between €3million and €5 million.

Coloccini has just joined NUFC from Deportivo La Coruna in summer 2008, and started the season as NUFC's first choice centre back. However, by the end of the season, he was the third choice centre back, behind Seb Bassong and Steven Taylor. He has represented NUFC 34 times.

Comparisons have been made between him and Titus Bramble, and that is not necessarily a bad thing, as Titus was a good defender, but prone to mistakes about 5 times per game. Likewise, Coloccini could have a good game for 89 minutes and make a fatal error.

The main point is, Coloccini wants to go, and he has never lived up to the hype, especially in the 2nd half of the season. We should let him go, and hopefully we will be able to recoup the outlay that we spent on him.
