The Evening Chronicle has reported that Mike Ashley would have to fork out a whopping £10million in player bonuses

Newcastle Owner Mike Ashley

With the end of season bonuses coming into effect, and installments on buys from yesteryear such as Duff and Martins due, the total bill come June 30th would be £10million. This would slightly reduce the value of the club, and Ashley may be desperate to sell the club before the payment.

One thing that is really unfathomable is how a relegated squad gets £10million in bonuses. If I didn't do my job, chances are I will be sacked from my post. This is the crazy world of football. We do hope that this is a good omen, that the scrooge will sell up quickly in order to get the bang for his buck, and we can concentrate on the new season ahead.
